October 30. An important meeting related to the tire industry will be held online.
This is the EU Zero Deforestation Directive (EUDR) seminar.
The organizer of the meeting is FSC (European Forest Stewardship Council).
Although the name sounds unfamiliar, in fact, many tire companies in China have already dealt with it.
More and more companies have obtained certification.
According to reliable sources, FSC has the world’s most stringent and trusted forest certification system.
The relationship between tires and forests seems far away, but in fact it is very close, because most of the rubber used in tires comes from forests.
Therefore, more and more rubber and tire companies are taking ESG certification as part of their corporate development strategy.
Data shows that in recent years, the number of FSC certifications of Chinese companies has always maintained an upward trend.
In the past three years, the annual growth rate of rubber companies that have obtained FSC certification has reached 60%; in the past ten years, the number of companies that have obtained FSC production and sales supervision chain certification has increased by more than 100 compared with 2013.
Among them, there are mainstream tire companies such as Pirelli and Prinsen Chengshan, as well as large rubber companies such as Hainan Rubber.
Pirelli plans to use only FSC-certified natural rubber in all its European factories by 2026.
This plan has been officially launched and is being promoted to all factories to produce more environmentally friendly products.
Hainan Rubber, the industry leader, obtained FSC forest management and production and sales chain of custody certification last year.
This represents the first time that FSC-certified natural rubber produced in China has entered the international supply chain.
The seminar focuses on corporate needs
The FSC held the EU Zero Deforestation Act seminar this time, focusing on the huge demand of the tire industry.
The seminar will explore the core content of FSC risk assessment and introduce the specific process of launching FSC-EUDR certification.
At the same time, it will also focus on the structure and application of the FSC risk assessment framework and the new progress of China’s Centralized National Risk Assessment (CNRA).
As an active member of the European Commission’s Zero Deforestation Act Stakeholder Platform, FSC has conducted an in-depth analysis of the Act; at the same time, it actively cooperates with EU stakeholders to transform the requirements of the Act into implementable standards and establish new technical resources for traceability and due diligence.
Based on this, FSC has launched a comprehensive solution for enterprises.
With the help of regulatory modules, risk assessment frameworks, due diligence reports, etc., it can help relevant companies meet compliance requirements.
Through automated data compilation, due diligence reports and declarations are generated and submitted to ensure that tire companies can advance steadily and export smoothly.
